SPECIAL EDITION
Hi everyone! We've got a special edition of our monthly newsletter-- meaning we've got a second newsletter for the month of October. There's been a lot happening, but most importantly, we're finally chartered! We've spent the last few weeks struggling with finding spaces for our meetings and our events. Now that we're chartered, things should be running as smooth as possible. Thank you all for being patient with us as we've been scrambling to put things together!
GENERAL MEETINGS
We've got our general meeting locations finalized for the quarter! We'll be meeting on Mondays, from 6 PM - 7 PM in Building 52, Room E3. We hope to see you at our meetings!
If you haven't heard though, we have a special meeting happening this week-- we're meeting on Wednesday, October 23rd instead of our usual Monday meetings. In this special meeting, you'll all get to meet and get to know our club advisor, Dr. Ryan Hatch!
UPCOMING EVENTS
Thank you all for those who came to our Board Games with Board event, and apologies to those who were looking forward to our Queer and Trans* at Cal Poly Panel. We've got a few more events happening this quarter-- such as Cookie Decorating and our Found Families workshop later this quarter!
After discussion within our Board and the other LGBTQ+ clubs, we've decided to move the Homoween Dance. We know a lot of people were looking forward to it, and our apologies for anyone who was getting ready to have an amazing time this Friday. We've decided to move it to another date due to not being able to confirm a space for our dance. The date we've picked is now November 16th, from 8 PM to 12 AM. Right now we're looking at UU 220 as a space for our dance, but we'll keep you updated! We also have a theme for the dance, but we'll keep that secret for now...
Lastly, we have our first fundraiser of the year!
On Saturday, November 9th, head over to Oki Momo (2256 Broad Street, Suite 120) and have some delicious Asian cuisine! You don't need to bring in a flyer of any sort, just show up and support. We'll be arranging rides for our fundraiser closer to the event date, but save the date (and some money) for the time being!
